Morning Prayer 2

Psalm 63

1        O God, you are my God, I seek you,

my soul thirsts for you;

my flesh faints for you,

as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.

2        So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary,

beholding your power and glory.

3        Because your steadfast love is better than life,

my lips will praise you.

4        So I will bless you as long as I live;

I will lift up my hands and call on your name.

5        My soul is satisfied as with a rich feast,

and my mouth praises you with joyful lips

6        when I think of you on my bed,

and meditate on you in the watches of the night;

7        for you have been my help,

and in the shadow of your wings, I sing for joy.

8        My soul clings to you;

your right hand upholds me.

9        But those who seek to destroy my life

shall go down into the depths of the earth;

10       they shall be given over to the power of the sword,

they shall be prey for jackals.

11       But the king shall rejoice in God;

all who swear by him shall exult,

for the mouths of liars will be stopped.

 

Lord thank you for giving me another day to live my life for you. I desire to dedicate this day to you. Show me the way I should live today. Give me the strength to stand up for you in all I do this day. Help me to be the person you need me to be in these days. Amen

Father Forgive Them

  Scripture: Luke 23:33-34 (ESV) 33  And when they came to the place that is called The Skull, there they crucified him, and the criminals, one on his right and one on his left. 34  And Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” Devotion:             The situation Jesus finds himself in here in today’s scripture is difficult for us to even imagine. A sham trial, no credible accusations of any kind, let alone any deserving of death, and yet here he is. A brilliant Rabbi, a teacher of the people who never led even one person astray from God’s will. This Holy One of God soon to be food for vultures.             This man who had done nothing wrong had no one in all the crowds who would speak up in his defense lest they be next to face the cross.   This is a copy of my letter to my senators, representative, and President Biden. January 15, 2024 Dear President Biden, Senators T. Duckworth, R. Durbin, and Representative D. LaHood             I am writing to you because I am concerned about the situation affecting our children and grandchildren, namely transitioning them from one gender to another. This nation must adjust course concerning these “interventions” because they are dangerous, irreversible, and life-changing. Our country should not be permitting these procedures on minor children under any circumstances.
