Peace in the Church

Peace in the Church Scripture: Isaiah 48:22, Luke 19:42 22          “There is no peace,” says the Lord , “for the wicked.” [1] 42  “Would that you, even you, had known on this day the things that make for peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes. [2] Meditation             My denomination (the PCUSA) made headlines yesterday and today by voting to change the church’s definition of marriage from “one man and one woman” to “two persons”. Those who have supported the change have been pushing for this for a long time say twenty or thirty years. It has been a fight, sometimes an acrimonious one. The peace of the church has suffered greatly at the hands of those involved in the fight.             Even now those on the side of the traditional definition of marriage are pledging to get up from the mat swinging and continue the fight.
