Ashamed of Jesus
Scripture: Mark 8:38 (ESV) For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him will the Son of Man also be ashamed when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.” Devotion: This saying of Jesus is undoubtedly the thought behind Paul’s writing in Romans 1:16: “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.” Together, these passages state an essential truth: Those who want to be known as Christians must not be ashamed of Jesus or His gospel.
