God Grant Us The Victory

Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 5:6 (NRSV)

6 So then let us not fall asleep as others do but let us keep awake and be sober.

Devotion:

            Now we finish our examination of “Woke” culture. We have shown over the past two devotions that this system of beliefs is really a new religion seeking supremacy over all other forms of religious belief. As it closely related to socialism and communism it is important to see that it wants to end the democratic system of government and replace it with a radical form of socialist style government. A system where the government controls all aspects of ones life including what, if any, religious freedom is allowed.

            The thought of such a government becoming a reality in the United States of America ought to keep us, as Christians, up at night. We must be knocking on the door of heaven at all times of the day and night with our prayers and petitions to God that such a thing will never be allowed in this country. We must become informed voters. We must know where the candidates stand and vote for the candidate that represents Christian values or at least one that does not support the values of the woke ideology such as CRT.

            We must, in the words of today’s scripture, “not fall asleep” and be watchful of our local political bodies. Opposing any action that would undermine freedom of religious expression. We must be sober minded and oppose this new culture that is attempting to take over our lives. We, however, know that in the end if we follow Christ’s commands, we will emerge victorious in this battle. We must be aware that our battle is not with flesh and blood people but with spiritual forces of evil in high places. Let us put on the armor of God (Ephesians 6) as we pray, protest, and vote as we see God leading us.

            Let us be especially protective of our children as we know that those who seek to implement this system of values targets the very young with their ideologies. Let us keep watch over our children’s education with great intensity. Watching out for such things as early sex education, discussions of transgenderism, and racial education among other things. Being asleep as to the type of education our children were receiving has already led to an entire generation whose minds are captive to this evil and dangerous philosophy. A failure that must be avoided in the future. We must learn to be vigilant at all times as the scripture says.

            God is faithful to protect his children (of all ages) from the cultural and moral rot that is epidemic in our country and in the world. Let us take heed to what Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 15:57-58 (ESV) and rejoice in our God:

            57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

58Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.

  On October 31st, millions of Christians around the world celebrate Reformation Day, a commemoration of a pivotal moment in church history.
