The Lord Keeps You From Falling

Scripture: Psalm 37:23-24 (NIV)

23 The Lord makes firm the steps

of the one who delights in him;

24 Though he may stumble, he will not fall,

for the Lord upholds him with his hand.

Devotion:

These verses from Psalm 37 provide a comforting assurance of God's guidance and support in our lives.

"The LORD makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him." This is a beautiful picture of God's guidance. Delighting in the Lord means finding our joy and satisfaction in Him, making Him the center of our lives. When we do this, He directs our steps, making our path firm, providing stability and direction.

"Though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the LORD upholds him with his hand." Life is full of challenges and obstacles that can cause us to stumble. But this verse assures us that even when we stumble, we will not fall. Why? Because the Lord upholds us with His hand. He is there to catch us, to support us, to help us get back on our feet.

So today, let's take comfort in these promises. Let's delight in the Lord, trusting Him to guide our steps. And when we stumble, let's remember that the Lord upholds us. He is there with us, supporting us, and helping us to stand firm.

Remember, no matter what you're going through, the Lord is guiding your steps and upholding you with His hand. His support is not a one-time event, but a continuous presence in our lives. So, trust in Him, delight in Him, and rest in His support.

Prayer:

            Lord, we humbly ask for your divine intervention in our lives to keep us from falling. We seek an increase in our spiritual strength and stamina to stand against the devil’s evil plan for our lives. Please help us to remain in your protective care, relying on your strength in spiritual warfare. Amen.
