Victory In Jesus

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 15:57-58 (NIV)

But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

Devotion:

Victory is a concept that resonates deeply with all of us, whether in spiritual battles, personal struggles, or professional challenges. In 1 Corinthians 15:57-58, Paul reminds us that true victory is a gift from God, achieved through Jesus Christ. This victory is not temporary or circumstantial; it is eternal, overcoming even the sting of death itself. It’s a triumph that gives us the confidence to face life’s uncertainties with unwavering faith.

Paul’s exhortation to “stand firm” is not a call to passive endurance but to an active, immovable commitment to Christ. The world will try to sway our convictions, presenting distractions, doubts, and discouragements. Yet, with the assurance of Christ’s victory, we are called to remain steadfast, holding onto the truth of God’s promises and the hope of His resurrection power.

The instruction to “always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord” is equally significant. It challenges us to live purposefully, devoting our energy and passion to serving His kingdom. This labor may not always yield immediate results or recognition, but Paul assures us it is never in vain. Every act of obedience, every moment of faithfulness, and every ounce of love poured out in His name carries eternal significance, even when unseen.

In times of weariness, this passage invites us to reflect on the source of our strength. Our labor is not sustained by our skills or determination but by the victory that Christ has already secured. This victory empowers us to persevere, knowing that our efforts are part of a divine narrative far greater than we can imagine.

Let this truth transform how you approach each day. Whether in your workplace, family, or community, embrace the assurance that your efforts in the Lord’s service are purposeful and powerful. Stand firm, remain unmoved, and let the victory of Christ inspire you to live fully for Him, knowing that in His grace, nothing is ever wasted.

Prayer:

Lord, thank you for the victory we have in Jesus. May we all raise our voices and sing the old hymn that proclaims your victory. You are with us through good times and bad. You are always ready to refresh and encourage us to continue until we reach heaven's door and your sweet embrace. May our lives bring glory to your name and enable us to keep on pressing for the goal of being with you in glory when our earthly journey is finished. Amen.
