Lord Heal me and Protect me

Scripture: Psalm 38: 1-8 (NIV)

Lord, do not rebuke me in your anger

or discipline me in your wrath

Your arrows have pierced me,

and your hand has come down on me.

Because of your wrath there is no health in my body;

there is no soundness in my bones because of my sin.

My guilt has overwhelmed me

like a burden too heavy to bear.

My wounds fester and are loathsome

because of my sinful folly.

I am bowed down and brought very low;

all day long I go about mourning

My back is filled with searing pain;

there is no health in my body.

I am feeble and utterly crushed;

groan in anguish of hear

Devotion:

The psalmist here declares that that no part of his body is full of health ad life. This author finds himself without much hope in the world. There is apparently no suggestion of hope within this text. The first thing that seems obviously In fact this text tends to be discouraged us. David even assigns the ill health he experiences.

            Our father In heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come and your will be done on earth as it is heaven Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Lead us into temptation but deliver from evil, for yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. AmenLord, do not rebuke me in your anger
